Fifty Disabled archers descended on Edlesborough over the weekend of the 18th and 19th May for the Disabled Sports Events and Grand National Archery Society National Archery Championships.
Saturday saw the FITA round being shot which consisted of 36 arrows shot at 4 distances starting at 90 metres.
This was run alongside a Burntwood 30 metre round for the visually impaired archers.
Although the weather was cool and cloudy on the Saturday, scoring went well and the round was completed without the use of umbrellas!
The day was rounded off with a BBQ and presentation for all involved
Sunday saw a smaller field in the FITA 720 event which started with the morning round of 96 arrows shot at the Olympic distance of 70 metres.
In the afternoon the elimination event saw numerous matches with archers of similar bow types shooting head to head.
The finals for compound and recurve bow types were shot with the traditional cheering from spectators and archers as each arrow was shot alternately and scored.
The whole weekend was a great success for Disabled archery.
The event was well supported by a number of companies and helpers.
